Melanie Murphy

The Challenge
Melanie Murphy has been creating online since 2013 and is one of Ireland’s longest-standing digital creators. Her work now runs across YouTube, Instagram, Patreon and three books with Hachette Ireland, and her website has to serve very different visitors: readers looking for where to buy a book, viewers looking for her latest video, and brands looking for her management. The brief was to give each of them a clear route in without losing the personality her audience already knows.

The approach
The goal was a site that felt as personal and fun as her content, while staying easy to use. Every page needed a clear purpose: one for each place she shares her work, one for her books, and one for brand and management enquiries. Headings and copy say plainly what each section is, rather than leaning on slogans.

The solution
The new site was designed and built in Webflow across eight pages: Home, About, Books, YouTube, Instagram, Patreon and Contact, plus a privacy policy. The Books page lists each title with where to buy it in paperback, ebook and audiobook, with links to retailers across Ireland, the UK, the US and Canada, so readers can go straight to the store they already use. The YouTube page shows her most recent upload, the Patreon page sets out what each membership tier includes, and the Contact page gives brands a short enquiry form. Smooth scrolling, scroll-driven animation and animated line details give the site movement without getting in the way, and the palette moves between deep plum and navy with pink accents. Copy was kept plain and specific throughout, drawing on her real books, awards and partnerships.

The outcome
The finished site gives Melanie a home that matches the range of her work: clear for readers, easy for brands to get in touch, and built to grow as she publishes new books and creates new content.
